Hello everyone 👋, TGIF 🍻🍷 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The last weekend of April is upon us and the stepping continued unabated. It's that time of day to share some of the trending stories and also how my day has been. As always many thanks for stopping by and let's take it away 💨. So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. A nice short walk then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies at the shopping centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media. Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹, otherwise a quiet day. Over in Sudan, it's the 14th day of fighting between the army and RSF. Despite a ceasefire, explosions, gun fire and airstrikes were the order of the day around Khartoum 🙀. People still fleeing. Let's go to Europe, Ukraine trending as Russia unveiled a new wave of bombing across several cities in Ukraine including Kyiv. 23 people died as apartment block was hit😭. Ukraine was able to intercept some of the missiles. Speaking of the war, Pope Francis stopped by in Hungary urging for a quick end and peace in Ukraine. Elsewhere in the UK, BBC chairman has resigned, criticized over a loan to former PM Boris Johnson 🙀. Not far, parts of Portugal and Spain experiencing unusually high temperature even before summer 🙀. Fears of forest fires high. Finally, across the pond in the US, Yaya the giant panda who spent twenty years in the US has been returned to china. China says she wasn't treated well😹.
