SWEATCOIN............the app that rewards you with it's own cryptocurrency just for walking!

Imagine this

Imagine taking your dog out for a daily walk, doing the school run with your kids or completing the daily commute to work, before usually the only benefits of getting up and exercising were being getting healthier and fitter. But, what if you could earn money while you exercise........what if you could watch your account balance grow while you walk, what if you could build for your future just by doing your own daily routine AND have all of this done passively in the background.

Enter Sweatcoin

This is an app that will reward you just by exercising, the more steps that you do the more Sweatcoins that you will earn. The company have developed a unique algorithm that is based on blockchain technology to verify every step that you make, once verified the steps are they are converted into Sweatcoins.

How does this work?

The app runs in the background on the phone and gathers steps from the phone's accelorometer and GPS (you will also need to give it access to the health app on your phone). It then applies it's unique algorithm to test and verify that the steps are genuine. At the time of writing this 1,000 steps are worth 1 Sweatcoin (SWC), the company does take a small cut (5%) so you actually get 0.95 SWC per 1,000 steps. All of this is done in the background and you can just check on the app to see your account balance.

Sweatcoin does have it's own marketplace where you can spend your SWC and buy real products for exercising, nearly all of the products are fitness related but there are gadgets that appear on occasion (Apple Watch was the most recent gadget). There are new products that are added almost on a daily basis so you'll have to keep checking.

Does it cost anything?

No. The app is free to download from the Apple and Google Play stores and you can start straight away. There is a cap on the amount of steps that you can convert initially, the free level caps out at 5,000 steps a day. If you wanted to upgrade to more steps you can use the SWC (4.75 SWC) that you have already earnt to convert 10,000 steps a day.

Is this worth it?

Personally, I think it is, I enjoy exercising and this is a way to build up a balance in Sweatcoin without me having to change anything in my daily routine, it could also serve to motivate people to get out more and exercise just to see their account balance grow. With the app being free and no requirement to invest any money I say why not?
