Hey Steemians! I'm back with a little interesting entry for today. A painting of a Wood Heart covered in chocolate, which I did as an illustrated asset used for the last children's book I've been working on. ![wood heart thumb.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbD9mKhfjL5SGiCG7bGXNa2SrxU5ra2k82KqiNbnSYRK5/wood%20heart%20thumb.png) *Tools: iPad Pro, Procreate* **First step: Visual Research** The process is really easy once you understand **textures, shape and color**. For this I always make a bit of a research or a mood board. I recollected a few images that helped me to have a better idea of what I needed. ![moodboard.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbSQQCjsqK61tccqhW1jQ5DEY2mxpGVB9tohEnPPjwDRx/moodboard.jpg) **Second Step: Sketching** Once the visual research is done, is easy to sketch the overall look of the heart.
