##### Here are some pictures from around my town during and after the lake flooded. This is in Kelowna British Columbia Canada. The pictures of the actual flooding are not mine, I wanted to share what it was like with steemit. There is also some video and I share some pictures at the end that I took this morning now that beaches are fully open. It is a large, deep lake in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. It is 135km long and the maximum depth is 232 metres, in some spots it is between 4 and 5 km wide. During the flooding there was about 1,200 docks damaged or destroyed. Flooding across the Okanagan began May 7 from a massive spring storm, alongside larger than normal runoff from late-season snowfalls, this all caused the lake to rise to unprecedented levels. It called Ogopogo, and is basically another interpretation of Nessy (Loch Ness Monster). The most common description of Ogopogo is a 40 to 50-foot-long sea serpent.
