It’s just not our thing man. Hope you understand,” you say. “Well rain on my parade why don’t you. Thanks for visiting our island. You’re free to leave,” Oddy doesn’t hide his displeasure with your decision. You and the band must find your way back to the ship you arrived on. You feel confident that you’ve become family to the Smackpunch onboard, and that maybe the sea life is for you. Only the mud grips you even more as you try to retrace your steps. The sun fades in the sky as twilight draws near. Tortillas de Pelo begin to feel a frantic desperate hysteria. You need to find the ship soon. Finally you make it back to the beach. Only the rusty cargo ship has already sailed to the horizon with your new friends the Smackpunch. You now feel alone even with your bandmates standing next to you. None of you speak because none of you know what to say. Where’s the decision tree? With this thought everything around you disappears. What you’ve been experiencing can be described as virtual reality, only it seemed so real. The beach and water are gone. Your bandmates are gone. The coastal breeze and the setting sun, all gone. And you remain alone in a small white room. Not white like painted walls. Instead the floor, ceiling, and walls are like LCD screens projecting a white glow. You realize you are surrounded by white television screens. Suddenly these screens fill with the face of Oddy. He laughs like a lunatic. A gas mist filters through the slots around the floor. “What’s going on?” you yell. “Welcome to the Nightmare Chamber Mendoza. You will now fall into a permanent hallucinogenic state that will help us create our video stream, like many punk rockers before you. Thanks for the content creation, ha, ha, ha . . .” Oddy concludes and his face disappears from the screens all around you. The screens now project all colors flowing toward you in waves like a lava lamp. You’re surrounded. Even with your eyes closed you see the colors in your mind.
