With good weather year round and beautiful beaches, it's not a surprise that many local people in Maui will do sunset BBQs at the beach, preferably at a beach facing west side since that is where the most beautiful sunsets occur.

And not surprised, I was treated to an amazing sunset on Saturday on the west side of Maui at Airport Beach, Ka'anapali.

As for making the BBQ go well, you could always simply get charcoal and use the public beach grill facilities ... however, to do it "Hawaiian style" ... my buddy, Ike, always is a prepared grill master, always having his portable BBQ equipment ready at a whim.

Things to need include a gas grill that is portable enough with wheels to simply wheel the grill around (without the need to carry the heavy grill). Also don't forget to get a mini propane tank so that there's enough for the grill. The next important thing is a cooler that also wheels, but acts as a extendable table so that you can chop meat and vegetables to prepare for the grill.

Since you have to have some music, preferably reggae music, a portable music player is a must, and then lay out solar charge panels so that you have music all day. And lastly, of course, the food ... can't go wrong with sliced, peppered beef and chopped roasted vegetables!
