It was only a matter of time before India got down to making its own path into Esports and Gaming as a whole. The year of 2018 marks the beginning of what Esports is and what it brings to the table for this developing nation and its children alike. We needed a new sport for our generation and the coming generations to feel for and do something for just as much as the older generations.

ESL (Electronic Sports League) and ILG (Indian League Gaming) are both hosting the biggest tournaments to have ever taken place in India; a prize pool worth RS. 1 Crore(USD ~$150000). People clung to the hope that gaming was going to be one of the bigger things for our generation and now, us as Indians get a chance to make it known just like the rest of the world.

Sudhanshu Sharma from the Indian FGC (Fighting Game Community) is bringing together a tournament for all fighting game enthusiasts from the country to come together. Bringing in audiences from fighter games that are world renown.

Street Figher V is the main event of the tournament - 'Proving Grounds' with casual setups for: Dragon Ball Fighter Z, Tekken 7 and Super Smash Bros Melee.

The Indian FGC have done a lot in the past few years to keep the fighting game community going, hosting meetups and tournaments have been their main priority. Vishal Lamba and Devraj Pandey involve themselves wholeheartedly with PR to keep the community going, and they have been doing it for most of its existence.

Members from the Bangladeshi FGC are also going to be present at this tournament. Personally, I would've never thought this to happen. Reputable FGC members from another country sounds like the start of everything good for the industry.

Winner gets to represent India at South East Asia Major 2018, more widely known as SEAM. Get your controllers up and ready. All you OTHER fighting game enthusiasts need to make sure you don't miss this. This is the first major of the country and probably the best place for you to get to know people and kick ass at the tournament.
