Las velas japonesas son un herramienta de análisis técnico que los operadores manejan para graficar y análizar el movimiento de precios de los valores del mercado. Este tipo de concepto de gráfico fue desarrollado por el Japones Munehisa Homma, conocido por ser un comerciante de arroz en su país.

Del mismo modo, si el gráfico se determina en un período de 15 minutos, cada vela que lo conforma tardará quince minutos en formarse. Con las velas japonesas podemos analizar cualquier escala temporal. Cuando sepamos leer y analizar los patrones de velas podemos estudiar gráficos mensuales, semanales, diarios e interdiarios.

Las velas japonesas nos servirán para simplificar lo que haya ocurrido en un espacio de tiempo de temporalidad inferior y resumirlo a 4 valores de precio (Ya mencionados anteriormente). Las velas como formas simples, nos servirán para encontrar altas probabilidades de patrones y actitudes que se repitieron en el pasado y poder sacar provecho de los movimientos de los mercados.

Sin embargo hay mucha información que es totalmente innecesaria en las velas y no saber identificarlo puede llevarte varios meses de desesperación. No comprender la importancia de la simplificación utilizando velas japonesas u otro método derivará con alta probabilidad en otro fracaso más.

La vela alcista nos presenta cuatro tipos de precios diferentes para un periodo dado, los cuales son el precio de Apertura, de Cierre, el Máximo y el Mínimo. Comúnmente se utiliza el color verde cuando la vela es alcista y el rojo cuando la vela es bajista. Aunque se puede utilizar otros como el blanco y el negro o personalizarlo a nuestro gusto. En la parte inferior de la secuencia podemos ver el precio más bajo y es el que enseña al inversionista el precio más bajo registrado de un activo negociado en un determinado periodo.

Como hemos visualizado, las velas japonesas son unas herramientas muy potentes en el análisis técnico, ya que hay muchas posibilidades de que sucedan ciertos patrones , además son muy fáciles de entender una vez que te acostumbras al uso de ellas. Aunque, cabe señalar que apoyar nuestra decisión de invertir en tan solo en el análisis de las velas es muy arriesgado.
