Para esta edición 77 de "Arte y Escritura" me uno a los aires navideños que hay en la comunidad y el invitado será el pintor holandés Pieter Brueghel, el Viejo (Pieter Brueghel de Oude).

Pieter Brueghel fue el fundador de la dinastía de pintores “Brueghel”, de allí el adjetivo El Viejo. También, junto a Rubens y Van Eyck es considerado como uno de los pinceles más importantes de la pintura Flamenca.
Nació en Holanda, hoy Países Bajos, y sus composiciones paisajísticas son reconocidas por la influencia que ejerció en el siglo XVI sobre otros artistas de la época. Se formó dentro de la Escuela Flamenca y fue un maestro del paisaje porque fue un paisajista “puro”. En sus panorámicas, el paisaje era el protagonista de la obra y no el background de una escena. No obstante, se pueden determinar cuatro periodos claros en el trayecto de sus obras: el paisaje, obras donde los personajes de la vida real están en primer plano, las estaciones del año como forma de presentar a la naturaleza y la última etapa con personajes sobresalientes sobre un paisaje, este ahora sí como fondo de la obra. Tuvo influencia de los pintores renacentistas, como muchos de su época, sin embargo marcó su diferencia pintando las proporciones reales de los cuerpos, por ejemplo como ocurre en los campesinos y en la gente, en sus actividades diarias, rompiendo de alguna manera la perfección de las figuras que se pintaban en esa época. Algo que también llama la atención fueron sus obras vinculadas a la protesta social que forman parte de nuestra historia del arte. La famosa sátira de “El combate entre Don Carnal y Doña Cuaresma” que no es más que una crítica a la Reforma Protestante luterana. Fue aceptado como Maestro en el gremio de pintores de Amberes en 1551. Muere en Bélgica, Bruselas, en 1569. Debido a la impresión de su año de nacimiento no se tiene certeza de sus años de vida que pudo haber sido entre 39 – 43 años. Ya en cama, ordenó quemar los dibujos más subversivos que hizo para proteger a su familia de alguna persecución política o religiosa. Aunque su obra se encuentra en los más grandes Museos del Mundo, apenas representan 45 pinturas. A continuación les presentaremos tres de sus obras para que usted escoja la que más los motive a escribir. La primera se llama: **"Censo en Belén”** (1566) *(¿Alguien ve dónde están María y José?)*, la segunda, **"Cazadores en la nieve"** (1565) y la última, **" La boda campesina"** (1566-1569).

Pieter Brueghel was the founder of the “Brueghel” dynasty of painters, hence the adjective The Elder. Also, along with Rubens and Van Eyck, he is considered one of the most important brushes in Flemish painting.
He was born in Holland, today the Netherlands, and his landscape compositions are recognized for the influence that he exerted in the 16th century on other artists of the time. He trained within the Flemish School and was a master of landscape because he was a “pure” landscape painter. In his panoramic shots, the landscape was the protagonist of the work and not the background of a scene. However, four clear periods can be determined in the course of his works: the landscape, works where real-life characters are in the foreground, the seasons of the year as a way of presenting nature and the last stage with outstanding characters. on a landscape, this now as the background of the work. He was influenced by Renaissance painters, like many of his time, however he made his difference by painting the real proportions of the bodies, for example as occurs in peasants and people, in their daily activities, breaking in some way the perfection of the figures that were painted at that time. Something that also attracted attention were his works linked to social protest that are part of our art history. The famous satire of “The combat between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma” which is nothing more than a criticism of the Lutheran Protestant Reformation. He was accepted as a Master in the Antwerp painters' guild in 1551. He died in Belgium, Brussels, in 1569. Due to the impression of his year of birth, there is no certainty about his years of life, which could have been between 39 - 43 years. . Already in bed, he ordered the burning of the most subversive drawings he made to protect his family from political or religious persecution. Although his work is found in the largest Museums in the World, they only represent 45 paintings.
