![IMG_20250707_153858_712_1751904848286_1752012990827_1752013058525.jpg](https://img.blurt.world/blurtimage/de-maria/85cc13959de7fab10a0e08946da7206cd767d53d.jpg) Hello guy's, how are you all doing today, lately have been thinking of doing something new, something I can stick to for a long time, something you will know me for, so I decided to go for textile on paper, textile has been my favorite course right from school, it takes a lot of time and effort but I love it still, so I have decided to stick with Ankara textile the Yoruba design, and I will be sharing with you every process. Firstly I stretch my cardboard on a board with water tape and I wet it with water and I let it dry overnight, the next day I drew my patterns on the plain cardboard, the patterns I used is called floral mofits (leaves) this patterns represents life and sustenance in the Yoruba culture, after drawing the patterns (the small and the big leaves) I prepared my background colors the green and the yellow, for the green I mixed poster green and yellow ochre together, and for the yellow I mixed poster white and yellow ochre together to get the yellow, and I splashed the two colors (the green and the yellow) on the background, after that I mixed poster red and vermilion together for the big leaves,after applying it on the big leaves the remaining color I added a bit of Prussian blue to it and mixed it together for the small leaves and I applied it, after applying the paints on the motifs (the leaves) I used black paint to outline ever motifs to make them pop out, and I used the black for the dots on the big leaves to make it more beautiful. The materials I used for these beautiful Ankara textile on paper is: board, cardboard, water tape, poster colors also know as smartkids colors, brush point 0 and 2, and palette for mixing of the colors.
