For many moons i have written about how we should protect ourselves and our family by going off grid and moving to rural locations. I think most of us get that point, but for many of us it is not really an option. Maybe you simply need to be near family and friends. Maybe you have lived where you are most of your life and moving would be too challenging. Im sure there are a hundred reasons why people cant just up and go, and so for those people.. this question is for you!

There are many ways to think about what protection means, and that is what this post is all about. Its a great opportunity for us to think about the kind of things that we might want to look at, before things potentially get any worse. To me protection means many things including a new job, growing some food even if its on the front porch, getting a few solar panels, teaching your children survival skills. Im sure you guys can think of many more ideas, and i have a feeling that between us all we may well end up with quite an interesting list!

Its hard to say what lockdowns will mean in 2021, but what seems certain is that they are not going anywhere fast and may well intensify. If the supermarket shelves are cleaned out, or the prices so high that its not worth buying fresh produce, im sure that you will be very happy to have a small garden in place. If you live with your children there may well be many things you want to do to help protect them. Mental health is high up on the list, and i wonder what things a parent could do to help their children to develop with the lest negative effects on them.

Whatever you think, as always, we want to hear about it! If you have any ideas where you think 2021 will look like in your area we would also love to hear your point of view. Things are quite different in many parts of the world, and so your answers may reflect your location. Therefore it would be great to also know what country you are from when you post so we can understand your situation with respect to your location.
