Hello, how are you all? I hope everyone is doing well. So today, I’ll give a review of street food, meaning whether it’s worth it or not, and how my experience was at the place I visited. For example, street food is very popular in Karachi; in fact, it’s common everywhere these days. In Karachi, it’s quite trendy as well—everyone is eating street food and uploading it on Instagram, recommending where to go and what to try.
So, although it was my first experience, it was quite good. The first food street I visited was very famous. I tried Momos and many other things there, and it was a great experience. Following that, yesterday, I went to another food street, which I had already heard bad reviews about, and I didn’t even know we were going there. I only found out on the way that we were heading there. Immediately, I told my mom, “Ammi, the reviews for this place are very bad,” but no one listened to me. Everyone insisted we go there. That area is quite expensive, and the taste is not good at all.

Anyway, when we reached there, the worst thing about street food, which I find very annoying, was how the waiters from every stall crowded around us, insisting we order from their carts. I feel so angry and wish I could just yell at them, saying, “We’re not blind; we’ll go wherever we want!” I don’t know, but maybe that’s their marketing strategy. However, I absolutely dislike it.

So, we went to one place and ordered two things: a burger, gol gappay, and momos. The worst thing was the service—oh my God, how bad! First, it took so long for the order to arrive. Then, they couldn’t even manage the crowd. After a difficult wait of about 45 minutes, the order finally arrived. When I tried the burger—oh my God, it was so bad! No taste at all. And on top of that, it was so small compared to its price. The only good thing, as expected, was the momos—they weren’t bad.

I was so angry and disappointed that we could have gone somewhere else. Because of all this, I didn’t even take any pictures of the food, although it was presentable. Anyway, I didn’t order anything else from there. Then we went to another place where we got soup, but maybe our day was just bad because that soup was the worst of the worst. We didn’t even drink it; we just wasted it.
Then I bought a burger from another place, and thank God it was very good—excellent. It was the same price, but it was so much better. Anyway, we came home, and I was distraught because, despite my warning, they went to that place, and all the money was wasted.
Overall, the food streets are amazing, but not every place is good. Always check reviews of a place before going, otherwise, your money will be wasted—just like mine was.
