I want to say, a very big thank you to steem kids and parents community for allowing this contest to hold. I'm supper happy! The song is titled: Older, composed and sang by Sasha Sloan. It's a song that usually moves me to tears, it reminds me of my childhood days while growing up. The song is a reflection of a chaos home, where mum and dad are always fighting and quarrelling. I hated every bit of it and wished there was one moment of peace at home. I often told myself, that I'll love differently, I wouldn't quarrel in my relationship with my spouse but I got it all wrong. The older I get, the more I see that I'm not even better... still struggling in my relationship causing my eyes to tear. The author sang it so softly, moving me tears each time I listen to it. And I know they're lot of people out there caught up in the the wave of a trouble home, growing up to feel that love is not just meant for them, building up a edge around their heart not to be hurt. It's me here.

was it difficult to sing the song? What do you admire about the artist way of singing?

| |- It was a bit difficult because she sings with so much emotions, calmness, and vulnerability, that I had to calm my nerves just to flow like her. She sang simply without stress, you could feel every bit of the lyrics, so much and it's truly heart renting.

which part was difficult and how did you overcome it? If it wasn't difficult, what are your secrets to singing it well

| |- There was no part that was really difficult to sing, I just had to calm down to make sure I communicate the music well just as she did. The only part that seemed a bit challenging was for me to enter the next solo, I discovered that there was no pause, she sang the next line immediately after the first chorus, I kept making the mistake of giving myself a break...but I later got it right.

which part of the song really touched you? Do you enjoy singing plain or adding riffs to enhance your voice?

| |- The part that really touched me is "loving is hard, it don't always work, you just try your best not to get hurt". You know.., I've lived all of my life single without love stories...the last one I had made me truly believe that loving is actually hard, and I've got to protect my heart from getting hurt. That's the part that moves me to tears, and often time I remember this song whenever I'm lonely and depressed. I enjoy adding riffs to my singing, and I admire those who does it too, just that I've not yet mastered it, so, for now, I choose to sing plainly.
