Now you feel more relaxed and comfortable.* *The feeling of being welcomed creates a sense of belongingness amongst individuals, a very interesting word that can mean a lot to different people. It's the start of the new year, so, just in case no one welcomes you formally, Welcome to the new year.* *With this in mind, let us dive deeper into the word Welcome by going through specific relatable points.*

What does 'welcome' mean to you and what do you use it for? Mention 3 instances

| |- _To me, Welcome is a relaxing word used to invite someone into somewhere relatively new. It can be used in a lot of instances, here's just 3._ **1. Greetings.** "Hey, welcome to my house" This has to be the most common use of the word, especially when you're having a person come over for the first time. **2. Arrival.** "Welcome to the new year" How many of you went for the Cross-over night or party to witness the countdown into the new year, then you are familiar with this instance. **3. New Job.** "Welcome to the company" When you start working in a new company, this can serve as another instance where the word welcome may be used.

How do you feel when this word is used for you and how do you also think the person you use it for feels about it.

| |- _As an introvert who finds it very hard to fit into a new environment, getting invited with soothing Welcome instances like I mentioned earlier. It helps introduce whoever it's used to the new setting. It makes relating with people easy too. Making people feel welcome can help build up one's confidence as well._

| |- _I prepared a long list of things I intend to achieve as I step into the new year. Every new year comes with a lot of expectations and this year was no different. The first thing on my list was to return to Steemit and maintain my activity level which has been lacking for a while. I also need to focus on my academics which would require a lot of effort and time in the coming weeks.
