Togetherness is more like a glue that holds different people together, making us stronger, more resilient and wiser than we can ever imagine. When we come together, our special and unique experiences as well as perspectives will create a band of unity. We become one, supporting one another through life's up and down. With this, I present my participation to the contest **"Bringing Us Together"**, organised and published by @sahmie.

WHAT DEOS TOGETHERNESS MEAN TO YOU?

Togetherness refers to the sense of unity, bonding or relationship that exists between two or more people who work together to enhance and achieve a specific purpose or common goals. It is also said to be the bond that exists between families, friends, neighbors, colleagues at work, nurses and their patients, and other organizations. They work hand in hand to ensure that their aim and objectives are met with ease.

HOW CAN WE CREATE A STRONGER SENSE OF COMMUNITY IN OUR LIVES?

We can create a stronger sense of community in our lives by; - ENGAGING LOCALLY: this means engaging ourselves in various activities such as farming, fishing, hunting, marketing etc. As this will enumerate us acquire knowledge and new skills from each other. For instance, the Igbo's coming together to celebrate their annual yam festival. - ORGANIZING GET-TOGETHERS : by organizing events such as picnic, chatting group forum, parties with friends,family and acquitances as this will enable us relate with others peacefully and without conflict. - INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP: this is a relationship that exists between two or more people in a community or society who share similar interests. It helps us to relate with others as it builds effective communication and establishes trust and also promotes effective relationships. - COOPERATION: This is a value and accepted norm whereby two or more people come together to achieve a common participation within members of the community helps to promote interpersonal relationship within the community.

WHAT ACTIVITIES DO YOU THINK BRING PEOPLE CLOSER TOGETHER?

They cook and share meals and also engage in some games activities. It can be done during the weekend or vacation. - Naming ceremony: this is an event where group of people gather to celebrate the birth of an infant. - Social media: this is an online base community where people join to share and receive information. - Football match - Wrestling games - Birthday party - Get-togethers as was earlier mentioned - Inter-ethnic marriages: When two people from different ethnic groups,tribe,language, background comes together to be united as a husband and wife - School and learning institution: School is a secondary agent of socialization whereby learning takes place and people get to meet together with other members of different race,tribe,culture and family in the spirit of togetherness. - Working environment which includes the employer and the employees

WHAT ARE SOME CHALLENGES OF TOGETHERNESS IN TODAY'S WORLD?

| |- - **LANGUAGE BARRIERS:** Lack of effective or proper communication can affect one's relationship as it may cause serious damages to one's life. Doing more talking without giving a listening ear to your opponent can ruin a relationship. - **CULTURAL DIFFERENCES:** Diverse background, beliefs and norms can cause misunderstanding leading to conflicts. - **ECONOMICAL INEQUALITY:** Ranking people according to their power, wealth and prestige (hierarchy) can lead to togetherness barrier or challenges as people with low hands (the poor and less privileged) finds it difficult to interact with the rich . - **MENTAL HEALTH:** Anxiety, emotional dismay and isolation can cause challenges to togetherness in our today's life as most people find it difficult to communicate or interact with one another due to depression or family differences. - **WRONG VERBALIZATIONS**: communicating to people in an unfriendly manner, for an instance using wrong words and exhibiting disrespectful and ridiculous attitudes to people rudely using abusive words or yelling at people for little mistakes that could be corrected. - **CONFLICT**: As far as any relationship is concerned,there must be ups and downs in the i.e conflict when two or more people don't come in agreement to a certain issue or have an argument about a particular thing

HOW CAN WE SUPPORT EACH OTHER DURING TOUGH TIMES?
