#### It's been some time since I last posted. ###### But, here is a blog with a battle I felt like sharing. ![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/cryptogeek2020/z8403ZVh-image.png) https://steemmonsters.com/?p=battle&id=a40d10038fdc0950d6d083cfe47838be7b1c8afb ## Battle Details: ##### **It was a 44 MANA cap battle with battle types *Armored Up* and *Close Range*.** **Armored Up**, as we know enables all the monsters to have 2 armors along with whatever armors the monsters might have by default. **Close Range** provides as option to use *Ranged* monsters in first position and even those ranged monsters can attack from first position. Since this was a high mana cap battle, one can expect to have better attack and speed cards and also since it's Close Range battle, whatever high mana ranged monsters are there, will be more useful to be even used in first position. ###### So, to counter attack the high mana cap melee monsters, I used *Death* Summoner and also since I have **Octopider at level 3**, I can even reduce one more attack from melee attack monsters of the person I will battle with. ##### So, here is my lineup with the Death Splinter. * **Lord of Darkness:** Used this in first position since it has **Expand** ability and it's by default 2 armors got increased to 4 because of the **Armored Up** battle type and that will be good enough to evade some melee direct attack. * **Prismatic Energy:** Although my **Prismatic Energy** monster is of just level 3 and comes only with 1 magic attack, I used this in second position because of it's high health of 10, so that it can soak up some melee or ranged or even magic attacks and allow my other second line cards to attack opponent. * **Phantom Soldier:** Used this for it's magic attack of 2 and health of 8 and it has *Flying* ability, so it could escape some melee or ranged attacks. * **Haunted Spider:** For it's ability of **Poison** along with it's 2 ranged attack. This can even be used for battle when it comes to first position. * **Soulstorm:** Another *Flying* ability card with ranged attack of 3 and it's speed of 5 means, it will be one of the first cards to attack the opponent's first position monster. * **Octopider:** Lastly, I used Octopider in the last position because of it's high health, just in case some Sneak monsters attacks. Like I said before, it's ability to reduce the melee attack by 1 will be more than handy. ###### Now to look into opponent's Summoner and monsters, he used a **Plado Emberstorm** summoner which gives an additional melee attack and also increases the speed of the monsters and reduces health of opponent's monsters by one. Monsters of opponent were: **Goblin Mech**, **Spirit Miner**, **Elemental Phoenix**, **Goblin Shaman**, **Ettin Spearman** and **Fire Beetle**. Opponent had fairly nice attack monsters. ## Battle: ![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/cryptogeek2020/w0BqXeLA-image.png) #### Round 1: If you see the speed of the cards, Soulstorm (from me) and Elemental Phoenix (from opponent) had 5 speed and will be the first 2 to attack. Luckily, by the end of first round, both the front monsters were still holding their life although very less and I started feeling some butterflies in my stomach. ![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/cryptogeek2020/SZ1G2TxG-image.png) #### Round 2: Lost my **Lord of Darkness** at the very beginning of second round and in few more iterations, the **Goblin Mech** was also taken out. With that, **Prismatic Energy** and **Spirit Miner** moved to front and attack continued. By end of round 2, monsters health and position was: ![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/cryptogeek2020/98uGHjxj-image.png) **Elemental Phoenix** was still breathing fire and **Ettin SPearman** with it's 8 life and 3 attack made me feel I am heading into a defeat. #### Round 3: Both **Prismatic Energy** and **Spirit Miner** were removed early in third round and that brought 8 health monsters of **Elemental Phoenix** and **Phantom Soldier** to front. By the end of round 3, both were hanging in with health of 5 apiece. ![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/cryptogeek2020/bdhsVvlp-image.png) #### Round 4: **Elemental Phoenix** and **Phantom Soldier** lost their life in the mid of Round 4 and even my **Haunted Spider** removed by *Sniping* ability of **Fire Beetle**, it made me more anxious. ![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/cryptogeek2020/9AjAKo0n-image.png) #### Round 5: But, things started to become interesting and in my favor with **Goblin Shaman** removed early to increase health of my remaining monsters by one and **Soulstorm** evading attack from **Ettin Spearman**. ![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/cryptogeek2020/oNZsaqRJ-image.png) #### Round 6: **Soulstorm** again evaded the attack from **Ettin Spearman** and the health of it reduced to 2 by end of round 6 because of 3 attack each from **Soulstorm** and **Octopider**. ![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/cryptogeek2020/p99HyMaY-image.png) #### Round 7: **Ettin Spearman** removed early and opponent left with **Fire Beetle** and I started feeling home with still my **Octopider in send position and **Soulstorm** could successfully evade 2 attacks because of it's *Flying* ability. ![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/cryptogeek2020/nKnUEjLs-image.png) #### Round 8: Round 8 needed just 3 iterations to remove **Fire Beetle** after it took out armors of **Soulstorm**. ![image.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/cryptogeek2020/SkRNaZkQ-image.png) ##### It was fairly a satisfactory battle considering the Summoner, rating and monsters of my opponent.
