One of the guys asked for some crisps or nuts with the drinks. The elderly barman smiled and said: > "I have something even better..." He smiled and disappeared for a short while and reappeared with freshly caught Jumbo prawns with their heads and tails still intact, along with some secret sauce. He gave a quick show and tell on topping and tailing the Prawns, in case we weren't well versed in the technique. Let me tell you, they were exquisite and although I wouldn't typically have them with pints, they hit the spot for five hungry and thirsty Irish golfers fresh in from the fairways. So Prawn Cocktails were in my subconscious when I got home to Ireland on Sunday and when I found myself at the Supermarket on Monday, the prawns lept into the trolley themselves with big smiley heads!
