Through my experiences, I've realized that trying to meet everyone's needs can lead to my own suffering. It's important to recognize that sacrificing your happiness for someone else is not what God intends for you. While this may seem selfish, it's essential to find a balance, as your foremost responsibility is to care for yourself. Some people may remain unhappy no matter how much you do for them; they have their own issues to resolve, and you shouldn't bear the burden of their choices. Otherwise, you risk allowing them to control and manipulate you. If someone, like a child, friend, or neighbor, constantly burdens you with their problems, it can easily overwhelm you and dampen your joy. They might expect you to solve their issues, leaving you frustrated after investing your time and energy only to have them return with the same complaints.

Consider a small child: if you always rush in to meet their demands when they throw a fit, they will continue that behavior. They learn to manipulate you. However, if you ignore the tantrum or correct their behavior instead of giving in, they will soon realize that such outbursts aren’t effective. This approach applies to adults as well. If someone can persuade you to cater to their needs, they will continue to do so. Keep in mind that life is too short to be swayed by those who make negative choices.
