I have a habit of using a sketchbook ^almost^ daily. That normal repetition is what allows one to maintain, build and expand skill sets - of course that repetition concept applies not only in the art realms, but also to other aspects of life. "insert something profound about discipline here". Another benefit I reap from this sketchbook habit is it helps me exert creative energy, energy that tends to rancidify and turn toxic when left unused, strangely enough. Although, if I'm being honest, I really prefer to go out in the world and illustrate life scenes (people, animals, landscapes, architecture, skies, I enjoy illustrating it all).
