I am looking for the appropriate words to break the days silence without overlooking the fact that it hasn't been the best of ideas. Like every normal human being, I have tonnes of good excuses as to why I have been missing in action but allow me to summarise it all in a single word, life. Yes. Life. *Where do I even start!!?* From the tripled responsibilities, to the weight of carrying around just about anyone I can, the costly mac repairs to the much needed nonexistent savings,the unsubdueable longings and the aroma of freshly dug realization hitting my zombied mind to the audacious parenting of teenagers. My mental health is draining itself into worrisome episodes that conveniently rewind the worst of traumas people are going through during this pandemic period. Like Susan and how she has lost her brother and sister in a span of a week and is burying them from a secluded hut. How she watched her brother's body being tossed in a shallow grave from a distance. He had succumbed to self inflicted burns while he was trying to commit suicide two weeks earlier. My heart sank when I heard how her sister was taken ill soon after their brother's death and died on Monday while the brother had passed away last Monday. The inability to imagine the kind of trauma she's going through has me questioning the balance of life and death. Why does it have to be hell on earth for her? Why can't fate just ease up on an already broken soul? Why can't the grave learn to wait and allow the mind to digest recent grief? I believe from this pandemic will leave enough minds crippled or deranged. Of late, the news have been somewhat choreographed with the masses only editing the numbers of the rising positive cases and the consequences of the crisis. As world class economies are having it rough, ours is being aided by a shamelessly corrupt regime. They are looting whatever aid is coming in as those who need it sleep hungry and not to mention some are sleeping out in the cold as their houses have been demolished by the same government or swept away by the floods.
