# Introduction I welcome you once again dear friend to my weekly food diary. Its that post where I show you how I have fed for the week. Like you know, we eat everyday to survive - that is very important. We also eat to enjoy what we are eating. And beyond just survival and pleasure, we also eat to nourish our bodies. I try as much to eat healthy so as to achieve the 3 things mentioned above - pleasure, survival and nourishment. Lunch at the office ![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmX4KQyYBs2J4jiNAyFF4m4vNdc2B4uvnJCrVguxhLiTdW/image.png) * **Whats There?:** Aghara Soup, Fufu and fried chicken. * **Why I love It:** I usually take plantain for lunch. But on this particualr day, I was feeling really hungry and I decided to go for something heavy. That was why I settled for fufu. The soup is one of my favorite - aghara soup. I love the slightly bitter taste of the vegetable. I heard it also have so many health benefits. Fufu is something I take occasionally - when am really hungry. Then the chicken as you know has always been recommended as on of the best meat in terms of health. So I enjoyed the meal with fried chicken. * **Prepared by:** I bought the food in one of the local restaurants not too far from the office.. Dinner at home ![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQLe7Cohhhm9nfHuKgyPii33ksdz19ZvXvk7o5nTpCKQk/image.png) * **Whats There?:** Plantain, fried fish and cucumber * **Why I love It:** I took carbohydrate food in the afternoon, so I had to go for a non-carbohydrate food for dinner. They made this meal for the evening and everyone loved it. Unripe plantain is a rich source of iron and many other important compounds needed by the body. Fish is protenious. I love fry fish, but only taken occassionally. I avoid fried food. Cucumber is one fruit rich in potassium and other minerals. Makes me feel ready and not heavy for the day. I love sweet things too - thats why there is semi-ripe plantain there. Chicken will always be around if I had the money to buy. It makes for a complete meal. Cucumber - I personally have seen the healing effect of cucumber. I dicovered it helps with heartburn. Depending on the one you choose, they are always packed with vitamins and other stuffs. This soup was made with pumpkin leaf (Ugu) very popular in this part of the word. It was fresh - vegetable soup for me should not be more than 2 days, preferably cooked and eaten same day. Chicken? So do not be surprized I have mostly chicken in my food - and sometimes as the food itself. So since I was not feeling particularly hungry, I had to settle for just chicken and cabbage as you can see. It was enough for me that afternoon. * **Prepared by:** I bought this chicken at a nearby barbecue joint.
