WHAT ARE SPLEEN DISEASES

There are so many spleen diseases in which some are curable and some are very much critical. Many inflammatory diseases can cause infarction and fungal infections can also cause spleen abscess. It can also cause cancer which is called lymphoma . Lymphoma is a type of cancer and it can affect the spleen. Parasitic infections can cause enlargement of the spleen. Other diseases include splenic cysts and spleen rupture.

YOU OR YOU KNOW SOMEONE HAS SPLEEN DISEASE?

Alhamdullilah i never had any spleen disease but i have seen patients in hospital. Recently i have my duty rotation in peads ward. There i see a boy with thalassemia major. He has enlarged spleen which is also called splenomegaly.This enlarged spleen is due to increased red blood cell count. WHAT STEPS WE CAN TAKE TO MAKE OUR SPLEEN HEALTHY AND PREVENT IT FROM THE DISEAS?

There are so many ways in which we can make our spleen healthy. The best one is to have a balanced diet which us enriched with iron. Always stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. Exercise regularly to make blood circulation good. But avoid overexertion as it can cause strain on the spleen. Manage the stress and avoid toxins. Keep in regular health checkups.
