What is Asthma?

| ---| Actually, we mostly don't know about asthma. It is a disease that is caused by bronchoconstriction when our bronchioles constrict. It occurs due to increased inflammation increased edema and more mucus production. First, we have to know about the adrenoreceptors to understand the treatment of asthma. Yeah basically for adreno receptors we should know that there are 4 adrenoreceptors alpha 1 2 and beta 1 and beta 2. The basic functions of beta 2 are vasodilation bronchodilation and glycogenolysis. The most commonly used medicine is beta agonist but some use beta blockers which reverse the effects Of beta agonist. So we should have to take the beta agonist despite the beta blockers.

Medication

| ---| Do you use medicines to treat asthma? The doctors usually suggest albuterol pirbuterol and terbutaline. This is a short-term treatment, not a long-term treatment. Those who have asthma have to take inhalers so that their bronchodilation occurs. Some patients get asthma due to the intake of the food. Some have allergies to food such as some patients who take bananas and they have symptoms of asthma because they are allergic to them. So we should have to take the History properly. If you don't take the history properly we can't diagnose patient properly. And despite that, we have to know the contraindications of the medicines. Some medicines are contraindicated in pregnancy and pacemakers. We can't give the medicines without knowing the whole history of the patient.

Physiotherapy treatment

| ---| If we talk about physiotherapy treatment we advise the patient or suggest the patient do cardiovascular exercises such as aerobic exercises the patient should walk about 10 to 20 minutes daily for an increase in cardiovascular endurance. The best exercise for asthma is swimming. Also, some Doctors confuse asthmatic patients with chest infections. These two diseases are different from each other and they have almost the same signs and symptoms but different diagnoses. So we have to consider all the symptoms if we miss only symptom we can't diagnose. There are one or two differential symptoms that differentiate asthmatic patients from chest infections.
