Can you give us some insight?*** *Orthopaedic is an area of Medicine that is dealing with deformities of bones and muscles of our body but also to treat the deformities and bring the body to normal anatomical appearance.* *There are couple of big orthopaedic procedures that is easy to notice one is Scoliosis this name I remember from the school when one of my schoolmate had such problem with back and few years later she was away for more than 6 months, she also had study at home during this time. When she returned to school, her back was straight and when I heard that she had some metal plates and screws in back I was completely surprised but she was happy to be able to look like any others.* *Also I remember in school we had some children with deformed teeth that were growing one in front of other, of course, kids made jokes about them and as treatment they had strange little boxes places into mouth, some rubber bands and later braces. The whole time they were speaking very funny. I thought that it will last forever but once they had the stuff removed they were able to speak normally but also their teeth were looking much better.* ***From what age can braces be used?*** *It is advised to start using braces from age between 10 to 14 years old. That is the time when we then have our permanent teeth. It is no need to use braces with milk teeth as they are much smaller, they do not have roots and usually fall out anyway. That is why the dentist will wait till all your permanent teeth erupt so that they can assess your jaw and check if any of the teeth, if they are crowded needed to be removed in order to accommodate the rest and also then it is easy to move the teeth using these special mechanical expanders or braces.* ***Do you know the difference between orthodontics and orthopedics?*** *The difference between orthodontic and orthopaedics are in the nature of treatment, if orthodontic usually deals with the aligning of teeth then orthopaedics usually deals with any anatomical problems in the bone structure of facial bones, the problem with muscles, tendons usually causing pain and that is why orthopaedics treat the deformities in order to relief pain and to re-establish normal anatomy through the surgical correction.* ***Advantages of using orthopedics over orthodontics.*** *Advantage of orthopaedic from orthodontic that it can be used in early age in order to correct the anatomical problem with jaw bones, split lip or palate.
