## Howdy to all Steemians! It's the 1st day of the month, and yep! I believe the best way to start it is by powering up!! Wooohooo!!!

Yeah, I know I know, it's way far far from 500 SP which is the minimum number of steem power to be eligible for SPUD4Steem. But as we all know, everything great starts from small ones. So, as my way to start getting back here I decided to join this movement and actually an official contest of @steemitphilippines and our dear @kiwicansfly.

I only got 5 Steem power before powering up, luckily i won at last week's contest of @olivia08 check it out here so you can join as well. And big thanks also to the sponsor of the contest, sir @long888 for being generous and giving out free load!!! Wow!

So here, since the prize is already liquid steem, i just needed to power it up and tadaaa!!! It's now added up on my power, way too far yes! But a good start indeed.

## So what is it with Powering up?
**(1) More SP means more Power!** Having big steem power makes your votes more profitable. The amount of Steem Power you have determines how much you can upvote. **(2) Curating is Life!** Aside from the fact that we can earn from blogging, we can also earn from upvoting or curating. **(3) We're Helping!** By powering up, we help both steemit and the whole community. If we power up it adds up to the the value of the token which is Steem and if our SP goes up and up, we can have a chance to delegate to others especially to the new ones or starting again.
Those are just some of the benefits of powering up as I can remember, hopefully as I continue this journey again, that probably I will have a weekly post or I'll try to make it twice a week, depending on my super powers 😂 ### @steemitphcurator set as 20% beneficiary.
