Regular Steem PowerUp increases the value of the account and motivates the user to work on this platform for a long time. Although nowadays clubstatus is not much needed as apart from clubstatus nowadays users get curator and booming support which I think is a good aspect. But still, in order to participate in various contests organized in some communities, one of the general rules of the contest is to maintain the user's club status.
