Hope we’re all doing great today. After contemplating for days on if I should hop on this challenge now or not, I’ve finally brought myself to reality of posting. My special thanks goes to @artist1111 for always organising this beautiful contest. After repeating the same food for almost every single time I want to eat, I have decided to share just a couple with you. Staying in the hostel has been amazing, but I cannot compare it to what the feeling is like at home--- where I get the chance to fix my meals just the way I want them. The story behind having a nutritious meal is on its own satisfying, or would I say, a joy-giver. I have come to settle for rice these days. Typically, I’m not the rice kind of girl. I have my preference, but here, I think it’s better to adapt.

Lately, I have moved from fried rice to jollof rice, and sometimes I do both. Also, fried noodles and eggs are not left out. Basically, almost everything is just fried.

Although it’s not very healthy, it has become a thing for me. I have come to not just like rice but adapt where it is necessary. To worsen issues, my roommates have been suffering from food poisoning lately.

We think this is because of the water used in cooking, or that maybe the ingredients used in cooking are just too spicy, or bad.

My food diary isn’t all that exciting today. It’s just to say how I have been able to adapt to an environment that needs much care when it comes to food consumption.

That sometimes, we have to look beyond what to consume to quench the hunger, to what will keep us safe and healthy for the meantime. So, while I’m eager to eat something good, I’m also being very careful to go for what would make me stay put. And sometimes, that’s what food is about. This has been my experience for months.
