Today I am happy to sharing one of my favorite home made dish for the **Steemit Iron Chef** challenge **Daal Keema** This is delicious and hearty curry mades With **minced meat (keema)** and **chana dal (split chickpeas)**. Its full of flavor very filing and perfect With roti.

This dish is very popular in Pakistan and is often enjoy for lunch or dinner. You can See in my picture how beautiful and tasty it look *I have also add video where I captured the **full cooking proces** from start to finish so you can follow each Step easily.* --- ### Ingredients I Used: * 250g minced beef (you can use chicken or mutton too) * 1 cup chana dal (split chickpeas) * 2 medium onions (sliced) * 2 medium tomatoes (chopped) * 2 3 green chilies (sliced) * 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste * 1 teaspoon red chili powder * 1 teaspoon turmeric powder * 1 teaspoon coriander powder * 1 teaspoon cumin seeds * Salt to taste * Fresh coriander leave (for garnish) * ½ cup cooking oil * Water as needed |![IMG_20250804_102342.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYLsyc55nf9z7J84id9vPwUGU1hQ6MLtPmwUztqBBDBo2/IMG_20250804_102342.jpg)|![IMG_20250804_102927.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQHbaxgv1RVhpEenb3mCs4M6PxjCGxeMKnitu46QrESME/IMG_20250804_102927.jpg)|![IMG_20250804_195639.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUj7X3MyY54mbKmDT2svgcavcwCHMiRSaGW4d9c2YazfM/IMG_20250804_195639.jpg)| |-|-|-| --- ### Step by Step Recipe **Step 1:** Wash the chana dal Well and soak it in Water for at least 30 minute. **Step 2:** In a pan heat oil and add Cumin seed. Then add slice onion and fry until golden brown. **Step 3:** Add ginger garlic paste and Stir for 1 minute. Then add choped tomatoes red chili powder turmeric powder coriander powder and salt. Cook Until tomatoes become soft and the masala leave oil. **Step 4:** Add the minced meat (keema) to the pan and Cook Un til the meat change color and release its juices Stir well so it mixe with the masala. **Step 5:** Drain the soaked dal and add it to the pan Mix well with the meat and masala. **Step 6:** Pour in enough water to cook the dal Cover and cook on low medium flame Until the dal become soft but not mushy and the meat is fuly cook. **Step 7:** Garnish with fresh Coriander leave , green chilie before serving. --- ### Serving Suggestion: Daal Keema is best enjoyed hot with roti naan or plain rice. Its completed meal with protein and fiber and its one of those dish that makes the whole house smell amazing while cooking.
