INTRODUCTION

| - | In the past weeks, the Italian community has highlighted the [launch of the Shield-it project](https://steemit.com/hive-184714/@frafiomatale/italy-community-presents-the-shield-it-project-against-downvote-abuse-la-community-italy-presenta-il-progetto-shield-it-contro-l), on the platform. This initiative is spearheaded by the @italygame Witness team and aims to address the negative impacts experienced by users who have been unfairly targeted by downvote abuse. Thanks to the invaluable support from @steemcurator01 and numerous members of various international communities, users affected by unwarranted downvotes have received substantial compensation. This overwhelming response has bolstered the belief of the @italygame Team in the project's effectiveness and positive impact. In the spirit of utmost transparency, however, we believe it's important to highlight a few key points: * **The @shield-it account will operate primarily to protect active members of the Italian community and all those who wish to support the project by delegating part of their SP. However, no action by @shield-it is to be considered automatic and remains subject to the judgment of the Admin Team**. * **Shield-IT** will actively monitor instances of abuse and will also consider reports submitted by any Steemit user. Each case will be carefully evaluated and addressed collectively before any action is taken. It's important to note that the @shield-it account's scope is not limited solely to the Italian community; it will assess cases from across the entire platform. * The purpose of the **Shield-IT** account is not, and will never be, to take sides in any downvote disputes between users, nor to pass judgment on the actions of community curators, administrators, moderators, or other users regarding individual actions. Its sole aim is to provide compensation to those who have been clearly and unequivocally targeted by negative votes for reasons that violate the platform's rules and guidelines. * The **Shield-IT account** will never directly intervene with the perpetrator of any abuse but will solely provide support to the affected users. However, if the individual responsible for the downvote abuse has not already done so, they will be asked, in the interest of transparency, to explain the reasons behind their downvote. * In this regard, **Shield-IT** encourages all users who may resort to downvoting, regardless of the reasons, to provide an explanation to the affected parties through a comment. This fosters a culture of transparency and accountability within the community.

HOW SHIELD-IT WORKS

| - | **Shield-IT** aims to provide an upvote of equal strength, or as close as possible, to counteract the impact of the downvote received. To ensure the effectiveness of the project, it may be necessary to achieve a voting power of at least 100K SP. Therefore, delegations from those willing to support the account's actions are welcome. However, during this initial phase, while waiting for the voting power of **Shield-IT** to grow, we will adopt a different approach. We will designate users recognized as victims of unwarranted downvotes as beneficiaries of 90% of the post's rewards, distributed according to the severity of the negative votes received. #### Please, note: in the event that the accounts targeted by downvotes exceed eight (the maximum limit for adding beneficiaries), @shield-it will have to make choices and inevitably exclude some of them. #### Every action taken by the **Shield-IT** account will be transparent and documented through the publication of one or more weekly reports.

INTRODUZIONE

| - | Le scorse settimane la comunità italiana ha presentato all'attenzione della piattaforma [l'avvio del progetto Shield-it](https://steemit.com/hive-184714/@frafiomatale/italy-community-presents-the-shield-it-project-against-downvote-abuse-la-community-italy-presenta-il-progetto-shield-it-contro-l), account amministrato dal team del Witness @italygame che si occuperà principalmente di riequilibrare gli effetti negativi subiti dagli utenti vittime dell'abuso accertato di downvote. Il prezioso supporto fornito da @steemcurator01 e da diversi membri delle varie communities internazionali ha permesso agli utenti vittime di downvotes immotivati di ottenere un abbondante risarcimento, spingendo il Team di @italygame a credere nella bontà del progetto. All'insegna della massima trasparenza, riteniamo tuttavia utile sottolineare con forza alcuni aspetti: * **L'account @shield-it opererà principalmente a protezione dei membri attivi della comunità italiana e di tutti coloro che intenderanno sup-portare il progetto delegando parte del proprio SP. Tuttavia, nessun intervento da parte di @shield-it è da ritenersi automatico e rimane soggetto al giudizio del Team di amministratori**. * **Shield-IT** agirà monitorando direttamente eventuali casi di abuso, ma raccoglierà anche segnalazioni da qualunque utente di Steemit, valutandole attentamente e in maniera collegiale prima di intervenire. L'account @shield-it non sarà naturalmente limitato alla sola comunità italiana, ma valuterà casi presenti sull'intera piattaforma. * L'intento dell'account **Shiled-IT** non è, e non sarà mai, quello di prendere posizione in eventuali battaglie di downvotes tra utenti, né di giudicare l'operato di community curators, amministratori, moderatori e altri utenti di fronte alla singola azione, ma esclusivamente di offrire una sorta di compensazione a chi verrà evidentemente e sopra ogni ragionevole dubbio bersagliato da voti negativi per motivi che esulano dalle regole della piattaforma. * L'intervento dell'account **Shield-IT** non avverrà mai direttamente sul responsabile di eventuali abusi, ma sarà da considerare esclusivamente come supporto agli utenti danneggiati. Tuttavia, qualora non lo avesse ancora fatto, il responsabile di un eventuale abuso di downvote verrà invitato, nell'ottica di una miglior trasparenza, a spiegare i motivi del suo ricorso al voto negativo. * A tal proposito, **Shield-IT** invita tutti gli utenti che dovessero eventualmente ricorrere alla pratica del downvote, indipendentemente dalle ragioni, a spiegarne le motivazioni ai diretti interessati con un commento, in un'ottica di apprezzabile trasparenza.

COME AGISCE SHIELD-IT

| - | **Shield-IT** prevede nelle intenzioni l'assegnazione di un upvote di pari forza, o il più possibile similare, al downvote ricevuto. Per fare in modo che il progetto funzioni in maniera apprezzabile potrebbe essere necessario raggiungere un potere di voto di almeno 100K SP, e di conseguenza saranno ben accette eventuali deleghe da parte di chi desidererà supportare l'azione dell'account. Tuttavia, In questa prima fase, in attesa della crescita del potere di voto dell'account **Shield-IT**, si opererà in maniera diversa, inserendo come beneficiari del 90% delle rewards del post, ripartite in base all'incidenza dei voti negativi ricevuti, gli utenti riconosciuti come vittime di downvotes immotivati. #### Attenzione, per favore: nel caso in cui gli account bersagliati da downvote siano più di otto (limite massimo per l'inserimento dei beneficiari), @shield-it dovrà forzatamente operare delle scelte ed escludere alcuni di essi. #### Ogni operazione compiuta dall'account **Shield-IT** verrà resa pubblica attraverso la pubblicazione di un report, previsto a cadenza settimanale.

| - | Questa settimana Shield-it non ha riscontrato **alcun uso immotivato del downvote**, ma continua a rimanere ugualmente vigile e a disposizione di chiunque ritenga di essere colpito da downvote immotivato per valutarne il caso.
