We do hope you enjoy the discussion about glasses and contact lenses. ----- ##### Glasses ---- This question doesn't have a straightforward answer and a lot of times when patients ask this question I tend to give them as much information as I can to help them make their own decisions through guidance. This is what we seek to do today, so let's look at spectacles first. Again, spectacles are less expensive as compared to contact lenses, easy to make, and easy to maintain. You only need your lens cleaner and your cleaning cloth. Should you lose or break it, it can easily be replaced within a day or two and you will be just fine. ---- ##### Contact Lenses ---- Contact lenses serve the same purpose as spectacles in terms of vision correction and have the bonus of it being almost inconspicuous except for those with color. It is relatively more expensive and a bit difficult to maintain however you get to choose from a range of either RPG lenses or soft lenses. It is not easily accessible to people in developing countries which could be a downside however you can stock up and take them with you wherever you go. Also if you are using RPGs you can reuse them over and again. ---- ##### Conclusion ---- So there you have it, some pros and cons with both and now you may be guided in making decisions with regards to which of the two you should go with.
