I love work of arts and I stop to stare when I see one. While at an art gallery yesterday I was shocked to see artists making a nice sketch of a tree while they were moving (*in motion*) I was just laughing at myself because I can't make such a nice art work while at rest. I paid a visit to a very lovely Art gallery in my school where many beautiful works of art are kept. From the entry you could know you're entering a premium art gallery with lots of works to view, you would just come out with your jaws dropped and start finding your hidden talent in Art. ----

Brief History

This building was commissioned in honor of the prof, Stella Idiong which Is the reason it was named after her. This Gallery was established by the government of Akwa ibom state, who His Excellency Udom Emmanuel was the sitting governor at that time, he commissioned this building inorder to give both the Artists and art lovers that connected to enjoy art. --- ---

Ownership and Management

| -| This Gallery is not owned by the government, as the government only helped them establish and commission it. It is the property of the school, University of uyo. The ownership was given to the department of Fine and industrial Art. They are in charge of the building as it is not a sole structure but it is operating based on the department and school at large. The management will rotate with the heads and senior lecturers, as they can make use of the gallery for the purpose of learning and tour to show students more about art.

Exterior and Entrance

Located in a friendly ecosystem, you can't help but stare at this work of art. At first I was confused in my early days in school, I taught it was a church not until we saw the signage. It Has this Architectural structure which I would also love to see an aerial view of, it colored with a calm green and brown color which makes the structure unique. The entry to the Gallery is free for students and also visitors as you would identify yourself and declare your belongings at a special place in the entrance. ***There's no ticket fee unless for a major function and it's stated otherwise***

Outdoors

Some or should I say most of these statues had their explanation written below and which school session it was done. This particular statue was just a normal statue at first until I looked closely at it. The half side of it shows the cross on his crest, which shows he is a saint or pastor and the other half shows skulls and bones which tell us something Evil is on. I saw that We can't judge a man by his outward appearance but the inside, a person might be so good but you don't know what Is cooking inside.

Interior

Cameras are being mounted too Incase of any burglary issue. The wall tone is blended and not shouty which makes it easier to spot an art work

Experience

I toured round knowing the rules of such places, I didn't even place my hand on them because I came to see not touch. I have not attended an Art event before which is mostly done for students in the department of fine and industrial Art.

Supporting Facilities

| -| There are restrooms in the gallery. In case of disabled or differently -abled people, I didn't find any special structures for them which I think will be reconsidered if it comes out as a challenging problem to some visitors and Artists.

Me encantan las obras de arte y me detengo a observarlas cuando veo una. Ayer, en una galería de arte, me impactó ver a artistas haciendo un bonito boceto de un árbol mientras se movían (*en movimiento*). Me reí de mí mismo porque no puedo hacer una obra de arte tan bonita en reposo. Visité una galería de arte muy bonita en mi escuela, donde se conservan muchas obras de arte hermosas. Desde la entrada, uno sabía que estaba entrando a una galería de arte premium con una gran cantidad de obras para admirar. Saldría boquiabierto y comenzaría a descubrir su talento oculto en el arte. ----

Breve Historia

Numerosos estudiantes y dignatarios del arte visitaron esta magnífica galería y pudieron admirar numerosas obras de arte realizadas por los estudiantes. Este edificio fue encargado en honor a la profesora Stella Idiong, razón por la cual recibió su nombre. Esta galería fue fundada por el gobierno del estado de Akwa Ibom, cuyo gobernador en ese momento era Su Excelencia Udom Emmanuel. Él encargó este edificio para que tanto artistas como amantes del arte pudieran disfrutar del arte. ---

Propiedad y administración

| -| Esta galería no es propiedad del gobierno, ya que este solo ayudó a establecerla y ponerla en funcionamiento. Es propiedad de la Universidad de Uyo. La propiedad fue otorgada al Departamento de Bellas Artes e Artes Industriales. Este departamento está a cargo del edificio, ya que no es una estructura única, sino que opera en conjunto con el departamento y la escuela. La administración rotará con los directores y profesores titulares, quienes podrán utilizar la galería con fines educativos y realizar visitas guiadas para mostrar a los estudiantes más sobre el arte.

Exterior y entrada

Ubicada en un entorno acogedor, es imposible no admirar esta obra de arte. Al principio, en mis primeros años de escuela, me confundí; pensé que era una iglesia, pero no hasta que vimos el letrero. Tiene una estructura arquitectónica de la que me encantaría ver una vista aérea. Está coloreada con un verde y marrón tranquilos que la hacen única. La entrada a la Galería es gratuita para estudiantes y visitantes, siempre que se identifiquen y declaren sus pertenencias en un lugar especial de la entrada. ***No hay que pagar entrada, a menos que se trate de un evento importante y se indique lo contrario***

Exteriores

Tomé fotos de todas las obras. Algunas, o mejor dicho, la mayoría, tenían su explicación escrita a continuación, indicando en qué ciclo escolar se realizaron. Esta estatua en particular parecía una estatua normal al principio, hasta que la observé detenidamente. La mitad muestra la cruz en su escudo, lo que indica que es un santo o pastor, y la otra mitad muestra calaveras y huesos que nos indican que algo malo se esconde. Vi que no podemos juzgar a un hombre por su apariencia exterior, sino por su interior. Una persona puede ser muy buena, pero no sabes qué se cuece en su interior.

Interior

También se están instalando cámaras por si acaso hay robo. El tono de la pared es uniforme y no estridente, lo que facilita la identificación de las obras de arte.

Experiencia

Conocí a una excelente empleada a la que le dije que me encantaría ver las obras de arte; simplemente sonrió y me dejó entrar. Recorrí el lugar conociendo las normas de este tipo de lugares; ni siquiera las toqué porque llegué a...No tocar. No he asistido a ningún evento de arte, ya que se organiza principalmente para estudiantes del departamento de Bellas Artes e Artes Industriales.

| -| La galería cuenta con baños. No encontré instalaciones especiales para personas con discapacidad o discapacidad, lo cual creo que se reconsiderará si esto representa un problema para algunos visitantes y artistas.
