Yesterday was the hottest day we’ve had here for a while. I underestimated the heat when I went out for a run at 9:30. I intended to run further but felt a bit stifled so I shortened my route. Note to self - go earlier (before 8am) or later (after 5pm) next time. Later mrshill and I took a walk to Red Leaf beach, situated between Double Bay and Rose Bay. When we arrived we noticed a ‘no swimming’ sign. Bummer! A sewer pipe had cracked so it was deemed unsafe for swimming. Sigh. We noticed what looked like a beach a bit further back in Double Bay - closer to home. Also known as ‘Double pay’ for the price of real estate in the area, we had no idea it had a beach. So we walked back and had a couple of quick dips in the seaweed-infested waters (at least it wasn’t sewer water). Apparently it’s not seaweedy all the time so we’ll definitely try this beach again!
