Steem greetings, guys, from the motherland, Cameroon. Welcome to my blog for another session of my daily lifestyle content. It was a work day for me, and I had lots of commitments to meet for the day. As we usually say, "...we plan and God decides...". I left the house in the early hours to work, and the energy that morning was high, given that I had a good rest the previous day. Upon arriving at my workplace, I did not even tidy up and received the news of the death of my elder sister's mother-in-law. ![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZAkWu8fgrud2EM6ebGH2sXLKZLvP4BURQgoqUP3jarSz/image.png) At first, I was weak and unable to do anything that morning, but on second thought was not sad anymore because she has suffered from different illnesses to date, and I believe she has gone to rest. This woman travelled to the USA in 2019 to care for her grandson, who was autistic, but upon arrival in the USA, she got sick to the extent that she was at the point of death, when her daughter decided to send her back home. When she got back with the help of traditional medicine, her condition was better, but she was diabetic and needed much attention. ![2eeff3b0-da31-4d4f-90fd-d16f8f068bda.jpeg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmei1YDKWpLQTYQaxgYTFi7zKdWJ8sQjdofqr8bn4CC9Ay/2eeff3b0-da31-4d4f-90fd-d16f8f068bda.jpeg) Her son, who is living in the same city as me, took her and has been battling with her mother's ill health for over 5 years, and it got to a point where the situation affected the son to the extent that he was in a coma for over a month. From what he told me, he just returned home from the hospital 3 days ago, and when he saw the mother, her situation was worse, and his wife had to carry Mami back to the hospital. When they arrived at the hospital the next morning, Mami was dead. It was a sad day for the son, and the wife had no one to assist her and I had to be around at least to console the family. ![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYYNNKkjRfPJSxVr3bacFC6YfNJpzKdw9D3mBBbjtxL74/image.png)^{Going to the mortuary to do arrangements for the corpse to be transported back to our home town awaiting the burial program.} We left the house for the mortuary to meet one of the eldest sons who had travelled that morning upon hearing the news of the demise of the mother. We met with him at the mortuary and made the necessary arrangements, and he left us behind to go back to the hospital the mother had died, to make a death declaration to use to transport the corpse back home. The family want the corpse to be back home awaiting the burial program. I sat around a small church at the mortuary with the last son's wife to console her while she also narrated her ordeal she had been through with her husband's mother over the years, coupled with her husband's ill health situation. ![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUfrFcjkXGPM62NKbqupcdQFUDGz1FgTXXZV387RPzX1B/image.png)^{*The stories she narrated were heartbroken*} At one point, she started crying, and I had to console her, and it was unbearable for me to stay at the mortuary for longer hours as other corpses were coming in. A lot of thoughts were running through my mind, and I felt how lifeless this life is. I then became a counsellor after she went inside to sign out the corpse, and she came out and almost collapsed. I took her back to the church at the mortuary and put her on the bench to rest. She has been devastated and traumatised seeing dead bodies for her first time. We left the mortuary and returned home. While at home, I was already exhausted for the day, but had to head to the kitchen to prepare dinner. Luckily for me, I still had some leftover fufu and huckleberry that I immediately heated and we ate. I had to watch the semi-finals of the FIFA World Club Cup between PSG and Real Madrid. The Madritas often have a way of playing a pre-mind game on the opponents. I had a heated argument with one of them, who is my neighbour, and I told him there was no way Real could win PSG due to their style of play. They cannot win against an attacking team like PSG, Arsenal and Barcelona. It was match time, and the tempo of the game was high, and many saw the game as a final of the tournament already, given the two teams' calibre. I was in full support of PSG because they play entertaining football, and my predictions for the game were correct as PSG outplayed Real Madrid. We await the burial program to travel back to our hometown, and until my next diary, it is goodnight from my end.
