The shut markets and the armed forces greeted us in the Morning as we left for DPL Baramulla where I-day celebrations were going on. The space was bustling, music reverberated, and the children donning in colourful costumes were rehearsing for their shows at stage. The exceptional showcase of talent took me by surprice. It was not an easy task for judges to pick out the top three teams. Performances were not merely entertaining but teemed with messages and lessons covering every area ranging from environmental to social. The show was not hindered by the untimely rain that left the costumes drenched and performers and audiences shivering. Although audiences were under waterproof canopies but the chill was so winterly to make them shiver. The shouts, hoots and squeaks of children while hearing their names made the ceremoney lively.
