Inedia or Breatharians or Fasting

is a belief that consider a human being can survive without food and few even believe that a human being can also survive without water too.

As per their belief, energy required for survival can come from Prana(type of yoga/meditation), the vital life force in Hinduism. Sunlight is considered to be one of the main source of Prana. As there are few plats which can survive on sunlight alone, it is also possible for a person to survive on sunlight.

There is an eye-opening fact that many people died while practicing Inedia due to starvation and dehydration.

Nutrition science claims that fasting for longer period leads to starvation and uses reserved fats of body to survive, and eventually leads to death.

While Breatharians claims that, by Prana a human can get energy and does not need to use reserved body fat, and a human can survive.

There have been multiple examples of such cases.

Prahalad Jani is a man who claims that he has not eaten from last 70 years and he currently 83 years old. Few researches were organised and he was kept under observation for 15 days,
A person from Israel survived for 8 days without food and water.
A report from 1669 claims that a woman survived 12 months fast.
Jasmuheen can go on fastening for months even drining a drop of water.

There are 100s of examples of such cases and people.
