Hey everyone,

My name is Dave Remy, I live in the Boston area, and am currently CTO of Linedata's Asset Management division. I have a long history in the tech industry from cofounder/early employee/CTO of multiple startups (Sharebuilder, GeoTrust, UBoost), working at tech companies (IBM, BEA, Microsoft), and the last few years as CTO at Linedata, a global financial services software company headquartered in Paris.

I am new to steemit, I came across it as I was doing research on cryptocurrencies. I have been putting my cryptocurrency notes in a mindmap. When I was CTO at GeoTrust, which became the 2nd largest certificate authority before being acquired by Verisign, I was fairly involved in the PKI space but became a bit cynical about it's potential for individuals. It is amazing to see the progress that is being made fueled by cryptocurrencies. A lot of the issues I saw then still exist, especially around private key management, but it is amazing the energy that is being put into it. The use cases are so strong I really do believe this represents a new generation or layer of the Internet which will have huge impact on all of us.

From a personal perspective, I am a mostly vegan, ex-ironman athlete (long ago) that just got a total knee replacement and trying to remember what it was like to move. Married with two grown children in Brooklyn and San Franscisco.
