# [This infographic is based on The Riddle Scale which measures the degree to which a person is or is not homophobic. This graphic has been extended to be inclusive of the wider LGBT community.](http://www.uas.alaska.edu/juneau/activities/safezone/docs/homophobia_scale.pdf) ### Developed by psychologist Dorothy Riddle in the mid-1970s, it was regarded as a pioneering work in synthesizing and recording differing attitudes toward people with alternative sexual preferences. Thus while this scale has since been expanded and updated since it popularization in 1994, it is still the work against which all other scales are measured.
