Over the last century, humanity has achieved a vast deal of innovation. We have learned to fly (with the help of airplanes), built machines that reduce our work and even curing complex diseases.

We have developed high-speed computers, smart devices, and the Internet. And, today, we are slanted towards Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.

Progress over last two decades was exceptional in the history of Earth.

But.

Yes, there is a but.

We have contributed a fair portion of destruction, at the same time. How?

Starting with two world wars, taking thousand of people's life and indirectly offering our interest that goes against the survival of our home- Earth.

Isn't that enough?

As we advance further in Science and Technology, we are getting closer to see the end, in a zoom.

Renowned physicist Stephen Hawking once said,

Now, more than at any time in our history, our species needs to work together. We face formidable environmental challenges: climate change, food production, overpopulation, the decimation of other species, epidemic disease, acidification of the oceans. Together, they are a reminder that we are at the most dangerous moment in the development of humanity. We now have the technology to destroy the planet on which we live, but have not yet developed the ability to escape it.

And, in my opinion, that's where we are headed.

Primary keynotes which will zoom out in the future and all of us will argue about them are: climate change, asteroid strikes, epidemics, and overpopulation

CLIMATE CHANGE

I know, not everyone believes in climate change and that's okay.

But, you know what?

It's eminent, and it will cause massive destruction of our home if we are not taking care of it.

In my article "Is Global warming a hoax or real?", if you have gone through, you must have known, how much damage we have already caused. And, if we don't restrain now, future will have its repercussions.

EPIDEMICS

We have been using/experimenting antibiotics among humans and livestock to get better with the disease. And, superbugs are growing as its overuse of it.

Many experts believe that we are at a high risk of a global pandemic. As per UN,

"66% of the population will live in urban cities by 2050."

Closer proximity of livings will spread the pathogens faster, as the germs can travel from one location to another.

Moreover, due to climate change, heat and flooding event will cause disease, which can take thousands of people's life.

OVERPOPULATION

Furthermore, studies imply that, with growing population, humans will have to produce more food in coming 50 years than the entire history of humankind together.

By the year 2050, Earth will have 9.3 billion people living on it. And, with this massive population, we need approx 1.6 Earth to sustain ourselves.

And, if that is the case, you can guess the rest.

ASTEROID STRIKES

Asteroid strikes are the most common theory, and we all have heard about it. At any given day, a rogue asteroid will hit Earth and will cause the destruction of humanity.

But, that's not something we can control. Rather, NASA has been monitoring all these events and warning us beforehand.

EXIT PLAN

It often scary as it seems. But, Human did make advancement (due to Science and Technology), on leaving the Earth and settle on Mars.

And Pioneer to that move is Elon Musk's SpaceX.

Planet Red isn't near, but Musk has the intend to land people on Mars by 2025.

How is this likely?

I'm not sure yet, but at least, he has some plan.
