How you joined steemit

For years the Silicon Giants had been gathering followers, to where it is rare to speak with someone who does not interact with at least one of the Giants on a regular basis. The Giants built their kingdoms, sent out the invitations; golden letters promising the chance to talk with lost loved ones, to have their voices heard the world over, or any variation of allowing followers to share their own art. They offered access to their kingdoms freely and openly with very few restrictions, there was the motivation to keep the kingdoms clean and the people were pleased. What was never mentioned was that the Silicon Giants could see everything going on within their kingdoms, and they would use that ability to learn everything about everyone in and around their kingdoms for sale to the highest bidders. For a time, things were good. The people shared of themselves; their interests, their art, their emotions, their plans, their thoughts. The sharing allowed the Giants to grow strong as they siphoned wealth and value from the people. In time, the Giants noticed that people were discussing topics that would not serve the kingdoms, so, the Giants decided to start manipulating the results, to guide people away from the dangerous topics. Slowly, people noticed the small changes. Some of the Giants were found to be talking of the people; “they trust me, the dumb f*ckers”, or similarly announcing that they are not blocking voices but are doing so for only good reasons… and other various statements that raised an alarm in the people that noticed. Some got together and started to build new kingdoms that would not be under the reign of the Giants. There have been a variety of ways that have been offered as alternatives; some by creating a platform where all voices were treated equally, others went with the method of offering the people a share of the wealth generated within the kingdom. One of these kingdoms is Steemit. Having witnessed that what appeared to be friendly Giants were secretly power hungry and seeking to control the people within their kingdoms instead of allowing them to communicate freely as was the original promise on entry. There was the strong desire to strike back in the small ways possible. Among the kingdoms built by the people, the promise of the share of the wealth generated by the kingdom, without needing to pay an entry fee was a strong attraction. The promise that voices would not be silenced; the worst is that the voice could get lost in the noise was another attraction. Finally, seeing that the Giants kingdoms have grown into AI driven surveillance grids that were growing corrupt, had caused a push towards the platforms that were more free is what led me to sign up.

A little about what can be found on your blog

My blog is quite new; there’s not a lot there yet. Mainly have been posting on political topics; the political environment has become quite heated recently and it is important to add to the voices of reason. Also have a general interest in technology; like the developments of AI, robotics, and other developments. Finally, I occasionally write about climate change, renewable energies and other related science topics… these topics are often loaded with misinformation and are often poorly understood even with the best intentions.
