What is the state of Bitcoin's lightning network right now?

It was being spread around as one of the solution of bitcoin's scaling issues but I haven't heard about it in a while. Is its development still being considered or is it dead?

    It's still in development, it's just that they (https://lightning.engineering) do not give info right now.  Frankly, I hope it will be integrated with Coinbase Wallet.
