Rather than stop the funding of the covert terrorist operations group in Syria, the U.S. is doubling down. The propaganda and terrorism-involved group who self-label themselves as a "civil defense group" are going to receive another $5 million donation from the Trump administration.

_Source U.S. ambassador James Jeffrey announced the contribution at the third Conference on Supporting the Future of Syria. Jeffrey also acts as the U.S. special envoy to the anti-Islamic State coalition. Yet, the White Helmets have often been found to gain support and provide support to IS affiliated groups. Some members have even been part of attacks carried out by terrorist groups in Syria. The Trump administration previously said it would cut funding to the group in Mat 2018. But after a month, it reverse it's decision and said it was giving $6.6 million to the group. U.S. State Department spokesman Robert Palladino justified the support of the White Helmets by [referring](https://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2019/03/290363.htm) to them as *"heroic first responders"* who have saved *"more than 114,000"* live in the Syrian conflict. This includes victims of *"vicious chemical weapons attacks"*. Yet, the reality is that the White Helmets have helped carry forward the propaganda and false narrative that the Syrian government and Assad are behind the chemical attacks in order to frame them as 'evil-doers' who attack and kill their own people with chemical weapons. When Assad has been winning, all of a sudden, chemical attacks happen that he would have no reason to order and bring more hatred towards him. The attacks do nothing to support the attempt to regain control of the regions being attacked. They do, however, give a fabricated reason for the U.S. to launch attacks in Syria. The Syrian government has rightly accused the White Helmets of being involved with and part of various terrorist groups. Syrian ally Russia, has even reported on the group's staging of chemical attacks to create a pretext for U.S. actions against the Syrian government. The alleged chemical attack in Douma in April 2018 carried a viral fake news story fabricated by the White Helmets, spread by mainstream media to propel the narrative of an evil Assad and justify more bombing of Syria. Children where taken into a staging area where cameras were setup, and they had cold water poured on their eyes. This was spread online as the aftermath of "another" chemical attack by the Syrian government against it's own people. Weeks later, news crews for Al-Jazeera went to Douma to investigate the alleged attack. They found the child that was featured in the infamous viral video created by the White Helmets. He spoke through is father, about not having been in any chemical attack. It was a ll a hoax that the Western media helped spread and the people bought it. Last December, evidence was presented to the U.N. about the White Helmets being involved in organ harvesting and endangering children.
