What Is The Process of Delegation?

in steemit •  6 years ago

I must have missed something - suddenly everybody is delegating... I don't understand what it means vs. "transferring" and I don't know how to do it.

Please someone enlighten me to the posts that explain it - or please explain it. I am not that tech savvy anymore...

Peace OUT.

Delegating is “loaning” your Steem Power out to another account for as long as you want. It is instantly “in” their account but can be taken back to your account the second you choose you don’t want to delegate anymore. Taking it back takes 5 days.

Many projects like SMT projects (@actifit, @dlike, etc) will give you their token if you delegate to them, and also bid-bots will give you Steem or SBD if you delegate to them.

My favorite place to delegate/in-delegate is “Steem World” > Delegations, and you can use this custom link to see your account in Steem World:

Hope this helps understand it (:

ok thanks @alexvanaken but say I want to delegate steem to @earthtribe - how do actually do it? Is there a delegate button somewhere?

No problem (:

Yes there is a button at steemworld.org/@in2itiveart > Delegations > Delegate SP > it will ask you to type in the account you want to delegate to and also the amount > then it asks for your active key > done! (:
