Hi Steemit , I want to tell you about the first experience when climbing Mount slamet. Mount Slamet is one of the active volcanoes with an altitude of 3,428 mdpl is the second highest mountain after Mount Semeru. The first time up the mountain was arguably busy, because I had given the information two days before the climb. Within 2 days I had to be able to prepare all the needs for climb. When till the appointed time we head out from Yogyakarta to purbalingga, the trip takes about 5 hours using motorcycle.

After arriving in purbalingga, we do not immediately climb but rest overnight in the house of one of my friends and decided to leave in the morning. Around 9 am we immediately headed to Mount Slamet. we climb through bambangan path which is the path that often climb because it is the shortest route. Few tips if you go up through the bambangan you should go directly to basecamp to buy tickets and parking of vehicles. Because only in basecamp which are authorized ticket from the government.

On the mountain there slamet 9 post for the climb, starting from basecamp then post 1 to post 9, and the last peak of the mountain slamet. Atmosphere during the climb is very exciting because it's the first time I did the climbing activities.

1. Basecamp to the Post 1 cottage Gembirung

From Basecamp to the post 1 we pass through the area owned by the estate, which is then contained field paths and lanes when entering the pine forest, rising to the post 1 cottage Gemirung at an altitude 1605mdpl. For a trip from base camp to the post 1 takes about 2 hours.

2. Post 1 to the Post 2 cottage Walang

3. Post 2 to the post 3 cottage pine

5. Post 4 to Post 5 Samyang Rangkah

6. Post 5 to Post 6 Samyang Ketebonan

On the way to post 6 was getting dark so we had to be extra careful so as not to separate and not slip due to slippery ground. To get to the post 6 does not require a long time, however, most of the climbers do not use these means 6 post directly to the post 7.

7. Post 6 heading towards 7 Samyang Kendit

Because we target the sunrise therefore we decided to take a break and continue the journey at 3 am.

8. Post 7 to 8 post Jampang

7. Post 8 to the post 9 Pelawangan

To get to the post 9 Plawangan we need about 15 to 30 minutes. When arrived at post 9 we rest a little later went on to direct ascent to the peak of the mountain climbing path Slamet which only takes about 1 hour.

8. Post 9 to the summit of Mount Slamet

Following from post 9 of our ascent to the summit soon to Slamet. However, to get to the peak we have to be extra careful and smart in choosing the right tracks. Because the track must pass the rocks with a fairly steep slope.

Once the peak of the first things that occurred to cool. Temperatures on the mountain is very cold even though the start of the post 5 we already feel cold but cooler air at the top. Although it is very cold and tired but there is a sense of satisfaction above their own time because it can see the sunrise and a beautiful view. Around 8am we decided to go down for a limit to be at the top until 10am.
