The earth is suffocating from the abusing of deforestation in countries all around the globe. The reason varies, all from large and continuous accidental forest fires during hot summers to global cooperation's wish to gain profitable money to their already large money bags. As the world we live in is going global, we read more and understand more today than at any other time before, I see more and more selfishness. People have a hard time to take in the global perspective, and that what You do every day have an impact on people on the other places of the world. I do this to make a small contribution towards a better, more understanding, and greener world. I believe in the platform for a greater good, for something that can be used to help others. Today we plant 2 trees in the [Pacific Northwest](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Northwest), sometimes referred to as Cascadia, is a geographic region in western North America bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west and (loosely) by the Cascade Mountain Range on the east. The region's largest metropolitan areas are Greater Seattle, Washington, with 3.8 million people; Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, with 2.5 million people; and Greater Portland, Oregon, with 2.4 million people. > The Endangered Southern Resident Orca have called the stretch of Pacific Ocean from Northern California to British Columbia home for millennia. Every year, as the Orca's migrate North to South and back again they rely on the West Coast Chinook salmon for food (nearly 80% of their diet). However, salmon stocks are diminishing due to loss of habitat and increasing pollution - ultimately impacting the Orca downstream. This project will rehabilitate salmon spawning grounds, ensuring the Orca have plenty to eat and giving the endangered species the best chance of survival. > Our amazing partners across the Pacific Northwest have identified critical forested areas that need to be restored in order to have the greatest possible impact on the well-being of the Southern Resident Orca. Planting trees around the rivers and streams that feed into the Orca's habitat reduces water contamination, lowers toxicity, protects salmon spawning grounds, and improves Orca food supply.
