It was a Fun Run - The Future

I doubt that much of what I post today here will be too surprising for the few I am still able to engage with but as I reach three years of blogging here and where we have been, I believe that I can officially say that I will be reducing my time even more as my priorities continue to shift. It is a bit heartbreaking for me as I had high hopes of this to be what could lead to an entrepreneurial future for me. While that did not realize, I did take much out of it for my life.

My introvertness was challenged and I found myself able to put my thoughts "out there" and making them vulnerable to many. While I was never a large part of the engagement on these platforms, I trust that my insights sometimes gave people things to think about. I have taken this learning and development into my career and I think it has helped me to continue demonstrate my willingness to lead teams and become a problem solver. This has continued my career development which has delayed my need to find alternative sources of income.

However, my hunger for entrepreneurship continues and I think I will never be far away from here. I am proud to say that I continue to be on track for a financial independent situation in the coming years and that will include the continued accumulation of capital to have available to any opportunities that may arise. The adoption and growth of Blockchain technology continues and I believe that it will continue to be an area I will focus on. This will keep me close as my intent is to hold my stakes and use them to add value.

I guess I never got used to the different shifts that occurred after the hard fork so could not really adjust. I have gone from helping to onboard people to now needing help to understand what is all going on. I am sure I have missed out on great opportunities due to the lack of engagement but I never have regrets as it has allowed me to focus on work and family which have been great.

So the coming months will likely focus on consuming content rather than creating it. I will probably be inconsistent on my posts although I think I will continue focusing on investing and gaming with a focus on sharing news and data rather than providing my thoughts on it. Splinterlands will like be my main focus regarding my actions as I continue to be encouraged by the future of that community and game.

It was a great ride and appreciate all the experiences and can just hope it will all come back to me once again. So it is not a goodbye but rather, see you down the road!

I know EXACTLY what you mean and how you feel.
I was so dedicated towards a blogging future that I left my job to pursue it. Of course then 2018 happened and the rest, as they say, is history. Like you, I've focussed my energy elsewhere, though I do force myself to post every week or so, just to stay in the habit, get the most important things off my chest and (above all) to maintain contact with the various online communities (which I find myself spread pretty thin between!)

The forks and fights between the greedy STEEM/HIVE whales and the greedy forces of Tron were most unfortunate and further exacerbated an already bad situation, with minnows becoming collateral damage.

However, from the ashes of a dead altcoin market and community I am absolutely sure that we will see a resurgence in interest (and profitability in blogging) when the alts finally run properly - whenever that may be.

So feel free to lie low and cater to your natural introversion and/or your entrepreneurial whims, as long as you keep an eye on the markets and the blogs every now and then.

As someone who is also keenly pursuing financial independence, I wish you all the best in that endeavour. I'm still a long way off my target and my ticket to freedom, but I believe I can do it - albeit over a period of several more years. Your accumulation strategy sounds healthy and - well - sound (stupid English language!), so with just the minimum of luck, I believe you will hit your goals.

All the best - BB
