A super annoying bug

in ethereum •  7 years ago  (edited)

This post was supposed to be the current issue of Week in Ethereum.  I particularly wanted to put it on Steem because I was going to donate all SBD earned from putting it on Steem toward the victims of the Ellicott City flood.

When I pressed "post," I got an error message that the post was too big at 65kb.  So I shrunk it, and instead got this error message:

RPCError: Assert Exception:fc::raw::pack_size(trx) <= (get_dynamic_global_properties().maximum_block_size - 256):

After that, I could not get the post to work no matter what I did.  I wasted at least 30 minutes, including time searching the error message -- plenty of people have had the same problem, but no solution.  There is an outstanding issue from months ago.

Steem will let me post this.  It will let me post if I change the body to just a sentence.  But it wouldn't let me post even 10% of the weekly newsletter.

So I'll leave this post up.  Maybe I'll learn of a solution.   I'll still donate all the SBD from this post, if there were to be any.

Could it be a bandwidth issue? If you could only post 10% of your newsletter, maybe you need more SP?

If that's the answer, I'm sure a few of us from the Slack would be happy to delegate and get you there.
