This garri is made from cassava; it passes through many processes before it's made; before carrying, first of all, you will go to the farm and root your cassava, then you will fill it with your knives.
Then you will wash it very well with water, and you will take it to the grading machine to grind it very well; if you want white, don't put palm oil. If you want, you can use palm oil. Then you will take it to the jack where they will press until the next day.
Then, you will remove it from the jack and filter it very well, making sure there is no chaff on it because it makes it look dusty. Then you will make your fire and start frying it.

That's why I prefer locally made garri to most of the ones we see in the market, some of them are not even suitable for drinking, and some cannot be eaten with soup as it will not mould well. Thanks for taking us through the procedures on how to prepare garri locally, I learnt from it.

Yo vivo en un pueblo pequeño llamado Carúpano. Acá las casa tienen patios traseros, porches o patios internos, en los que se hacen jardines. Yo adoro las flores, pero me agrada más sembrar plantas que, a parte de ser muy lindas, nos provean de alimentos. Por ello, en mi patio interno he plantado árboles de cambur y de plátano.
Como pueden ver, también están creciendo unas matas de auyama, pero a estas las voy a cortar porque se enredan en las matas de cambur y les quitan la salvia.

These are the tomatoes that my father is growing, this year it seems that it will be a good harvest, although unfortunately I can't wait to taste them but as you can see from the photo they are still green so we still have to wait.

That season we have been waiting for is finally here, I know we all love the combo. Whenever the corn is ready for harvesting the pear gets ripe too, I just love the timing both of them have.
This food combo is sold in almost every point in streets, especially the roasted corn and the pear is also introduced to flames or heat( roasting). Excessive intake has its consequences, so don't be carried away by how sweet the combo is. This is a combo that is found in almost every street in the country during this season.

Omor no be lie oo, the combo is very good, i still remembered when I came back from school on Friday, I had pear at home and since there was no corn I had to improvise and used the available food, and that was the life saver; garri (cassava flakes) 😅, taking this combo, i was filled till when I had to take dinner. The combo of pear and corn, or pear and garri, is very common during these period. Abi Imoh, between pear and garri, pear and corn which do you prefer.

Untuk bercocok tanam itu tidak mesti harus menggunakan lahan yang luas, lahan yang kecil pun juga bisa. Buktinya hari ini saya bisa menanam labu di lahan yang kecil. Ini adalah bibit labu yang baru tumbuh, labu ini sering kami sebut labu tanah, dengan buah yang besar dan berwarna kuning disaat sudah matang. Labu tanah ini, juga bisa dijadikan sebagai bahan makanan seperti kue khas Aceh (Timphan). Labu ini yang masih hijau atau kecil bisa dijadikan sebagai sayuran begitu juga dengan pucuknya.
