The biggest festival in our country is Eid-ul-Fitr. Since our country is a Muslim country, it is the biggest festival in this country. Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the biggest festivals among Muslims.

Therefore, it is also in the culture of our country. Since this festival happens once a year, a tide of joy comes among us on this day. This day comes after 30 days of fasting, it is held on the first day of the Arabic month of Shawwal.

Everyone celebrates this Eid happily and joyfully. I have been enjoying this Eid since I was a child, I used to enjoy this Eid 10-15 days before the day of Eid, it was like my golden moment. Even during this Eid, there is the joy of meeting each other, going to the houses of relatives and friends, and going out with friends.

Since it is a religious festival, my ancestors also celebrated this Eid, it is not only religious but now it can be said to be the culture of our country. So this day is happy for all of us. Everyone from the rich to the poor enjoys this festival, so there is no discrimination between them.

This Eid was more joyful when I was growing up, I used to take money as Eid gifts when I saw my relatives and loved ones and used this money to go out with my friends, as well as buy and eat the traditional food of our country, which was an incomparable joy. Now that I'm older, I give money as Eid gifts to make my little boys and girls happy, which I feel good about myself if I can give them now.

One of the features of this festival is that after the morning prayer, everyone prays to Allah and stays together, removing jealousy and hatred. Good food is cooked in everyone's house during Eid.

These foods are also known as our traditional foods, some of the foods are semai, payes, juice, beef curry, chicken curry, polau, vegetables, haleem, etc. Without these foods, Eid is not a joy, so in terms of food, this food is arranged in every house.

Wearing new clothes on this special day is another joy to enjoy. Usually, on this special day, wearing new clothes and going out is a tradition. From young to old and from rich to poor, everyone wears new clothes more or less.

Wearing new clothes is a different kind of joy to enjoy. Taking pictures with close people also remains a memory. Besides, spending time together with relatives, talking, and eating together is also quite a joy.

If there is no restaurant food while traveling, the joy of traveling cannot be found, so eating from restaurants and going out is a tradition for our country. The day ends with laughter and joy from beginning to end, and we find joy in everything, including our beautiful surroundings, the gentle sky and the breeze. It is a different kind of emotion that cannot be expressed in words. Which turns the joy of one day into the joy of 365 days.

New clothes, talking to everyone nicely, visiting each other's houses, taking pictures with everyone, cooking special traditional food at home, giving Eid gifts to children, and praying to Allah for everyone is our tradition. This is how we celebrate this day.

It's also celebrated here by Muslim faithful, and it's always a public holiday for everyone. I like the love you guys share during this celebration. Cheers to more celebration.

@okere-blessing
Yes, this day is a public holiday not only for our country but for every Muslim country. Thank you very much for liking my post, friend.

Personally, I can say that when I think of our traditional days, the first Eid comes to mind. May this day be a memorable one like every Eid, which is not to be forgotten, may the whole day end with laughter and happiness, and may we find joy in the beautiful environment, the gentle breeze, and our surroundings. Thank you very much for your beautiful comments.💚

Thank you so much for the invitation, dear friend! 😊
I’ve already made my entry for this week’s festival and celebration contest, but I couldn’t resist stopping by to enjoy your post, too.

Reading your story brought back so many sweet memories! The way you described the buildup to Eid-ul-Fitr, the joy starting even 10–15 days before, the excitement of new clothes, family visits, and delicious traditional meals, it all paints such a vivid and heartwarming picture of celebration and unity. 🌙✨

I especially loved your reflection on how your role has shifted over the years, from receiving Eid gifts as a child to now giving them with joy to the little ones around you. That was such a beautiful reminder of how love and celebration evolve with time.

May your Eids continue to be filled with laughter, blessings, and the company of loved ones. Thank you for sharing your joy with us

@peachyladiva
Thank you very much for reading my post in its entirety. It feels better to me that in my childhood, the tide of joy flowed between us from the 10 days before Eid and the joy of receiving Eid gifts was really beautiful when I was young, but I think after my post, you are talking about your childhood and the days that are remembered. In some ways, your childhood memories and my childhood memories are similar.

Thank you very much for the nice comment, friend.

Greetings dear ,

Your narrative about the Eid celebration is quite touching and shows wonderful memories, unity, and rich culture. Everything was beautifully brought to life by the pictures, cuisine, and customs.

All the best in the challenge 😉
