Hello Everyone,
This blog is in response to the Weekly Challenge of Sharing the Battle by @splinterlands as in above link.
This time, it's Goblin Mech which features as the monster for Weekly Challenge.
Goblin Mech is a heavy tank belonging to neutral monsters category and is a common monster which has some useful abilities which I will explain a bit later.
Goblin Mech has it's own strengths with huge armors it gets from level 1 itself and also for it's melee attack.
It is also having it's own weekness of vulnerable against Water splinter monsters because of the magic attack.
Let's see the level-wise abilities, melee attack, speed, health and armors details.
Melee attack ranges from 4 to 6 with levels 1 to 4 having 4 attack, levels 5 to 8 with 5 melee attack and remaining 2 with highest attack of 6.
Speed remains the same for all the 10 levels, which is a constraint for this heavy machine.
Health of the Geblin Mech starts at 6 and can be a max of 9 at level 10 .
Armors are the best part of this monster and it starts with 5 armors and can increase upto 7 at levels 8, 9 and 10.
It has wonderful abilities of Stun and Piercing
Stun is available from level 6 and can make the attacked monster get stunned and which means the monster which is stunned cannot attack in the next round of battle.
This is particularly useful when we have huge health monsters in the battle.
Piercing ability helps to override the armors and attack the health of opponent's monster when the attack is more than the armors of opponent's attacked monster.
Battle:
This was a battle involving Earthquake and Week Magic battle types and the latter particularly encouraged me to use Goblin Mech because of it's armors.
Lineup:
I used Fire splinter with monsters Exploding Dwarf, Goblin Mech, Giant Roc, Ettin Spearman, Flame Imp and Prismatic Energy
Let's see why I used this particular lineup.
Exploding Dwarf used as front monster hoping it's speed of 5 is enough for the first attack.
Unfortunately, opponent's opponent's Water Elemental with boosted speed of 6 was good enough for first attack and nullified my usage of this monster in first place.
Goblin Mech was used as second monster to be the attack bearer from opponent with it's armors and I felt it's a good fit for second position avoiding the attack from high speed monsters from opponent.
Giant Roc is particularly useful with it's Reach ability and can attack along with Goblin Mech to disturb the lineup of opponent.
Ettin Spearman with piercing and 4 ranged attack is a best ally for melee monsters and it's health of 8 is also a plus.
Flame Imp with less mana and 2 magic attack is good for this lineup and is among early attackers because of it's speed of 4.
Lastly, Prismatic Energy with 10 health is suitable to take on sneak monsters for atleast couple of rounds and also provides 2 magic attack.
I just want to highlight the opponent's monsters as well here.
With Bortus Water summoner, opponent used Chain Golem, Prismatic Energy, Spirit Miner, Ruler of the Seas, Mantoid and Water Elemental as his lineup.
Round 1:
It all started with Water Elemental making my Exploding Dwarf as it's bunny and I lost Exploding Dwarf even without hitting once!!!
But the armors of the Goblin Mech were good enough to withstand the attack from water splinter as it's Week Magic battle and there were no further casualties in this round.
Round 2:
Since this is a Earthquake type battle, all monsters lost some health at the beginning of the round and Chain Golem was soon taken out after earthquake and my Goblin Mech as well.
Just before the second round closure, Prismatic Energy of opponent was removed to bring Spirit Miner to the front.
Round 3:
Earthquake took my Ettin Spearman out and Spirit Miner was removed early by combined magic attack from Prismatic Energy and Flame Imp.
With Ruler of the Seas ending the life of my Giant Roc, Flame Imp came to the fore.
Round 4:
Earthquake was the best friend for me in this battle as it removed the Ruler of the Seas and Mantoid leaving Water Elemental as the only monster for opponent.
This is how the monsters were at end of round 4 with my Flame Imp with flying ability was instrumental in giving a win for me.
Round 5:
Earthquake removed the Prismatic Energy of mine and it's just Flame Imp for me and Water Elemental for opponent and Water Elemental being ranged monster, cannot attack any further.
Finally, the flying ability of Flame Imp saved the battle for me.
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Barring the Exploding Dwarf in first position, everything else worked as expected.
I will try not to use the Exploding Dwarf in first position and may be more flying monsters to avoid the earthquake health reduction.
Do you use the GOBLIN MECH often? Why or why not?
Yes, one of my most used monsters.
I use it more because of it's armors and the melee attack.
That's an amazing journey about explaining the lineup and battle.
Until next challenege, good day to all and happy battling :).
Keep writing and keep having fun during this lockdown.
