Taking care of my son, Princewill and managing his health condition// 20-06-2025.

I woke up early, as I always do, preparing for another day at school. But little did I know, today would be different. My son, Princewill, woke up with a flurry of sneezes, and before I knew it, his body temperature began to rise alarmingly.

As a concerned parent, I sprang into action, I quickly boiled water and bathed him with warm water, brushed his teeth and freshened up before I picked up the phone and dialed my head teacher's number, explaining the situation to her. Thankfully, she was understanding and granted me approval to stay home and care for my ailing son.

First things first, I needed to get some food into Princewill before we headed out to see the pharmacist. I rummaged through the kitchen, looking for something that would be easy on his stomach. That's when I remembered the leftover rice and stew from last night's dinner. But to my surprise, Princewill was having none of it.

"Pap and bread, please" he insisted, his tiny voice weak but determined. My heart melted at his request. He's my joy giver, and I couldn't deny him anything, especially when he's not feeling well. So, I quickly prepared his favourite breakfast, and he managed to eat a little, which gave me some relief.

With his hunger momentarily sated, we set off to see the pharmacist. After a quick examination, the diagnosis was clear: Princewill had contracted malaria. The pharmacist prescribed the necessary medication, which included an injection. I knew this wouldn't be easy, as Princewill is terrified of needles.

As the pharmacist prepared the injection, I held Princewill tight, trying to comfort him as he trembled with fear. I couldn't take pictures, as I needed both hands to hold him secure. But with the injection administered, I breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that my son was on the road to recovery.

As the day went on, Princewill slowly began to feel better. The medicine started to take effect, and his fever subsided. As I'm writing this article, he is back to his cheerful self, I thank God for my son's recovery and I'm grateful to the pharmacist for his prompt and effective treatment.
